NFG Meets Goal!
A big “Thank You” goes out to all who helped the Never Forget Garden at Veterans Memorial Park meet the original goal of $150,000! It is so rewarding to see the installation of this memorial reaching reality, with dedication planned for May 21, 2024. All personalized brick pavers are spoken for, while donations are still appreciated for other parts of the memorial as well as continued maintenance of the Never Forget Garden.
Donation information is available from Sherry Frisk, NFG Treasurer, and Patricia Gerling, Executive Director, Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley, a 501 (c) (3) a non profit organization that holds the NFG funds.
NFG Donation Continues . . .
Fundraising is continuing. Over half of our projected budget has been raised, and installation of the memorial is anticipated this year. Donations of $500 for 8″ x 8″ personalized brick pavers located in the Never Forget Garden plaza are available for a limited time. Names of donors contributing $5,000 or higher will be recognized on the granite pedestals located at the entrance to the memorial.

Reminder: NFG is participating in Brazos Valley Gives!
Early Giving has begun and continues until 4:59 AM on October 18.
At 5:00 AM on the 18th, the Day of Giving begins and the entire campaign ends at 11:00 PM that day.
Members of the NFG Committee, shown at the left, will be at the Bryan Eagle front parking lot, 1729 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan to help gather donations on the 18th between 5:00 and 6:00 PM. Please help Never Forget Garden gain the most donations during that time (in person at the Eagle drive-through or online at https://www.brazosvalleygives.org/neverforgetgarden). We will gain another $1,000 if we receive the most donations from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.

“Early Giving” through Brazos Valley Gives has already started and continues through 4:59 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18.
“BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES DAY” officially begins at 5:00 a.m., OCTOBER 18, and continues through 11:00 p.m. that day for online donations. In-person drop-off for donations is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Eagle, 1729 Briarcrest Drive, Bryan.
Please help the Veterans Memorial reach our fundraising goal to construct this special memorial honoring all unknown soldiers and veterans, while also commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery.
Never Forget Garden Veterans Memorial exists because of patiotism, hard work and donations. This memorial will honor the thousands of soldiers who died during the American Revolution, many buried in unmarked graves, as well as our fallen in all wars since that time.
The Society of the Honor Guard Tomb of the Unknown Soldier began this initiative in 2018. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Never Forget Garden is a nationwide invitation to all Americans and freedom-loving people to plant gardens as a visual way to represent America’s unwavering commitment to our sacred duty to recognize, remember, and honor our veterans, many who continued to serve as first responders, and their families now and for many years to come. There are many ways and traditions that are available to express patriotism, love, mourning and remembrance. According to the Society of the Honor Guard, a “Never Forget Garden” can provide an elegant expression of that which deeply resides in the hearts of our fellow Americans: “I will Never, Ever Forget You — I am in it with you.”
